Everything was perfect, but carrying luggage up the stairs was tricky.

My stay at The Poplars was fantastic! The Victorian house is beautifully decorated and the views from my room were breathtaking. Scott and Nancy are amazing hosts who provided a generous breakfast, including porridge with a dash of whiskey, which was delightful. The location made it easy to explore Pitlochry’s charming high street, and their warm hospitality truly made me feel at home. I also loved the cozy lounge area where I could relax and admire the stunning garden views.
Nothing.

i thought i was stepping into luxury at The Poplars, but found my bathroom freezing—no heating could discourage a shower. And after 1 night, i expected some elite perks, but alas, i received nothing. I almost considered a positive review, but really, i just couldn't!

The breakfast was a delightful highlight, featuring homemade dishes made from local produce, such as the exceptional whisky porridge.
The stairs to the upper rooms can be a bit challenging, particularly for those with heavy luggage.

Couple seeking charm
We cherished our time at this guest house, the hosts made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. I especially enjoyed the early morning tea Scott prepared for us, a true lifesaver since I'm an early riser and had to get ready for our adventures.
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but honestly, it was worth every penny.

homely atmosphere but tricky stairs
The atmosphere felt homely and welcoming. The beds provided excellent comfort, guaranteeing a good night's sleep. The breakfast was truly exceptional, highlighting the quality of the dining experience. I especially enjoyed the beautiful mountain views that enhanced my stay.
Carrying luggage up the stairs proved to be a minor inconvenience.

The bathrooms were notably cold, lacking heating and making it less than inviting for a late-night shower. A few guests mentioned that the compact room sizes could be improved for better comfort, and some struggled to locate parking due to the layout of the property. While breakfast was excellent, options for evening dining were virtually nonexistent, and the communal spaces felt cramped during busy periods.

Great stay with fab views!
We were so pleased with our stay! Scott and Nancy were super friendly and full of recommendations. Breakfast was a feast with delish local dishes, and can we talk about the views? Just stunning! Only thing was the stairs were a bit much with luggage, but it was worth it for the experience.
